Pillars of Care Assembly

This morning we read a story called "One". In the story the colour red makes the colour blue feel sad and bad about himself. Blue's friends purple, green, yellow and orange see red doing this and stand by and do nothing. When red makes others feel bad he gets bigger and bigger. Then the number one comes along and stands up to red. The final message of the book is that it only takes one to stand up. We talked about how the story isn't really about numbers and colours it is about the importance of standing up for others and being kind. We brainstormed how we can spread kindness and fill buckets within our classroom and throughout the school.

We had our Pillars of Care assembly this morning. Congratulations to the students who won awards for showing care for themselves, others, place and learning. Thank you to those parents who came to support our students.
